Employment

Introduction

If you are a British citizen or a national from the EEA (European Economic Area), you do not need permission to work in the UK but if  you are from Bulgaria, the Czech Republic, Estonia, Hungary, Latvia, Lithuania, Poland, Romania, Slovakia or Slovenia, you need to check your eligibility before you can work here. If you are from outside the EEA, you may still be able to work in Scotland providing you are eligible for a Work Permit or meet the criteria for acceptance on one of the schemes available to people wanting to come to work in the UK . Further detailed information is available from www.bia.homeoffice.gov.uk/workingintheuk/.
